This episode will go over how a tripod works and it's set up. Also in this episode is a quick tip about using the camera's self timer to avoid getting camera shake in your images
Hi Spencer, I just saw your videos on Etsy. Thank you so much for taking the time to explain.
I have a question: My tripod's head keeps tilting all the way forward even when the camera is not hooked. It's not new, but big and sturdy. I try to fix this anyway I can every time (strings, piece of carton, you name it) but more often than not it's ineffective and annoying. Is there a way to fix this or should I just give up and buy a new one?
Without actually seeing the tripod.... Sounds like your tripod head has worn out or is broken. You say the tripod is big and sturdy.... that's good! What kind of tripod is it?
You can do one of two things.
1. Buy a new head. Just make sure when buying a new head that it will fit your existing tripod and is suitable for your camera. Most heads are universal and will fit your tripod but just double check to save you any complications.
2. Buy a new tripod with a head.
Tip: Keep an eye on the used equipment department of your photo store. Sometimes you can get a great deal on a really good tripod. www.adorama.com has a good used department.
